A week of metamorphosis

In May 2026, Katapult Future Fest arrived in Amsterdam for the first time — Investor Day at Tolhuistuin, festival days in Ruigoord, the free-spirited artists' village at the city's edge. Since 2017, KFF has convened impact investors, founders, changemakers, artists and technologists working toward a regenerative society. This year's theme was metamorphosis, an invitation to spend three days in a collective chrysalis.

Festivals work a particular kind of magic: gathering people around a theme, an idea, an intention, a dream. Energy rises, connections spark, hope swells — and then... everyone goes home. As participants and co-creators land back in their daily lives, one question follows them home: now what?

This page is about the part that usually never happens: what comes after the chrysalis phase. Because "now what?" is, at its core, a coordination question — one that has outlived every attempt to answer it. Until now.

The mark
The mark of the convergence

Two wings meeting around a single landscape: funders and founders, capital and knowledge, converging on one shared field without merging into a single institution. This is the metamorphosis Katapult began, held in symmetry — difference coordinated, not erased.

Difference Coordination Convergence Regeneration
After the festival

Most gatherings end in a comedown. This one ends in a coordination effort.

Now that Katapult has worked its magic and everyone has gone home, we are supporting the convergence — a real attempt to turn a week of energy into a season of coordinated action. We do not own this process. We steward it.

Magic ends, work begins

The Convergence — First Bloom

First Bloom is that effort. To carry Katapult's momentum forward, we are releasing — in alpha — three systems and one series of protocols. We are financially supporting them ourselves, while welcoming donations and support from anyone who wants to help.

The promise is simple. We map what exists. We make sense of it. We connect the people who should be talking — and we do it impartially, on behalf of the whole field, not any one actor.

We support the convergence with three systems and a series of open protocols: algorithms that map and make sense of the field; liaisons — real people, financially covered — who connect and matchmake across it; and a pilot data layer whose protocols let the field become visible to itself.

The stance

This is a process we steward, not control. We fund it, we hold it open, and we let the convergence emerge from the field's own energy — not from the top down.

Four releases, one convergence

Three systems and one series of protocols. Each is early, each is funded by us, and each is open to your support. Together they run one pipeline: from information to intelligence to introductions.

Convergence infrastructure

Our algorithms for mapping and sensemaking. From what the field shares, we surface its needs, wants, funding gaps and knowledge — then turn information into intelligence: patterns, clusters, constraints and blind spots. Intelligence the liaisons put to work.

The Liaison System

The system's human interface — real people, financially covered. Liaisons reach out with what the algorithms surface, adding what lives between people: context nobody types in, trust built over time. The right opportunity finds you.

Data Layer

Unified Data Layer (UDL) — Pilot

A shared data layer for the field. Organisations contribute selected, structured information — needs, offers, resources, knowledge, opportunities — keeping full ownership and sovereignty over their data. This is what the algorithms read: the more the field shares, the more it sees.

Data Protocols & Governance

The Alpha Test Protocols — for organisations joining the pilot

The series of open protocols for the UDL pilot — interoperability, sovereignty, transparency, reciprocity and stewardship, with a trust layer and a governance framework. A common language for coordination, tested in the open.

We fund the work — and we invite you in

The objective is not to maximise membership revenue — it is to maximise meaningful, coordinated participation. But free to access is not free to run: the algorithms take compute, the liaisons take salaries, the data layer takes upkeep. We cover these costs ourselves, and we welcome the donors, sponsors and partners who help us keep both the work and the door open.

Accessibility commitment

A portion of all support keeps the door open. Supported Access ($0) means no one is excluded for lack of funds — the field grows stronger when contribution isn't gated by money.

Sponsorships & donationsOpenFor sponsors, partners and philanthropic supporters who want to sustain the work and keep access free.
Running at costSoonWhen we reach a cost ceiling we can no longer fully subsidise, we'll invite members to support at cost — no margin, just sustainability.
